The 2019 Versailles Poultry Days will be June 14th, 15th & 16th.
The Versailles Poultry Days’ Board of Directors and the Village of Versailles welcome you to the 68th annual Poultry Days festival June 14th, 15th
and 16th 2019.
Poultry Days is an annual community festival which began in 1952 to celebrate the area’s history as a leading poultry-producer and is held the second full weekend in June. Arrive early to enjoy one of our World-Famous chicken dinners. Since 1952 this village of less than 3,000 people has sold 1,012,685 of these delicious dinners. Last year 28,520 dinners were sold, but arrive early as they can sell quickly.
The 2019 festival theme is “Rock -n- Roll All Night & Poultry Every Day!” Think early 1970’s hair bands, rock and roll with a poultry twist! Festival Chairman Alex Luthman shared “The theme to me brings to light what I think of when Poultry Days comes to mind. The music, party, and of course the chicken! What a great opportunity we have to raise thousands of dollars for local organizations in the Versailles area and fund Heritage Park by putting on the county’s biggest festival!”
A festival theme of Rock -N- Roll All Night & Poultry Every Day
requires great music and large quantities of poultry. This year offers a new mix of musical styles with
new bands, festival favorites and local talent.
Tricky Dick & The Cover-Ups, Saw Creek and for the first time
Brother Believe Me will headline and perform with many other talented musicians
including Kaitlyn Schmit and The Move, Eight Ball and the DeMange Brothers.
The festival is
always packed with many activities for people of all ages to enjoy. There are
two parades, the Grand Parade at 11 a.m. on Saturday and the Antique Car Parade
at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday. The Village will host the 38th annual
Ultimate Frisbee Tournament, which is one of the top bucket list tournaments in
the world. Some of the other activities will include: Miss Chick and Little
Miss Poultry Days Contests, FREE Kiddie Tractor Pull, rides and games for all
ages, Vendor Area, Cake and Egg Contests, Flower Show, and Art & Photo Show
along with many other family friendly events.
Changes for this year include: The fourth annual “Confident Chicks” will be conducted at the festival for the first time. Open to 5th to 8th grade girls this event builds physical, mental, and emotional strength with fun activities. For the older kids locally brewed craft beer will be added to the Social Tent and for the first time a “Poultry and Pints” Craft Beer competition.
