RULES AND INFORMATION: The theme for this year‘s flower show is “WE THE PEOPLE”
The following are the general rules and categories for the four divisions of the show. For all questions concerning the
show please contact Chair, Karen Mescher at (937)–423-5822. Co-chairs are Judy Shappie and Sue Leugers
1. Entries must be set up between 9:30 and 11:30 AM on Friday June 9, in the bus driver’s meeting room; enter through
the back door of the old school.
2. Entries are open to everyone. Open judging will begin at 1 PM on Friday June 9, continuing till 3 PM if needed.
3. Artistic Arrangements may contain materials of designer’s choice – including fresh cut, dried or treated plant material;
however no artificial plant materials are permitted. A 3x5 card should list all items in the arrangement and
posted with the arrangement.
5. Specimen (Div. B & C) flowers must be grown by the exhibitor.
6. An exhibitor may make any number of entries in each class B. Roses and class C. Perennials as long as each entry is a
different named variety.
7. Entries in Class B (Roses) and in Class C (Perennials) must be correctly named according to it’s specific variety to
receive possible full points for judging.
8. All entries must be removed between 6 PM and 7 PM on Sunday June 11.
9. BEST OF SHOW awards will be given in all four Divisions.
DIVISION A: ARTISTIC ARRANGEMENTS –
1. Tiger’s Roar 3. Red Lights & Sirens
2. Farmer In the Dell 4. Ultimate Game (Novice - anyone never having won a
blue ribbon in Artistic Arrangement division; no age limit)
DIVISION B: SPECIMENS – ROSES
1. Hybrid tea – named variety 2. Floribunda – named variety
A. White or near white 3. Grandiflora – named variety
B. Yellow, yellow blend or apricot 4. Miniature – named variety
C. Pink or pink blend 5. Old English named variety
D. Red or red blend 6. Any other rose variety – named variety
E. Orange, orange blend or red orange
F. Any other color
G. Blown rose
DIVISION C: SPECIMENS-PERENNIALS – NAMED VARIETY
1. Spike flower type
2. Round flower type
3. Spray flower type
4. Iris
5. Peony
6. Lily - bulbs specimens only
7. Clematis
DIVISION D: SUCCULENT GARDEN
(entry is allowed up to 16 inches across)
1. With decorative accessories
2. No accessories – plants only
